Over the past few weeks several people have requested access to pictures of Aidan on Flickr. Many of them are marked as Friends and/or Family viewable ONLY. To get access to these you must have a Flickr account. Here are the steps to ensure you can get access

1. Open up a web browser and go to http://www.flickr.com

2. Click on the “Create Your Account” button in the top right corner

3. This will require you to have a Yahoo account. If you do not have one already click the “Sign Up” link in the lower right hand corner

4. Fill out the information on this form and click the “Create My Account” button at the bottom. All information is passed to Yahoo! though a SSL/HTTPS session so it is encrypted.

5. You will then be redirected to a confirmation page. On the right hand side, click the “Continue” button

6. On this next page, you should see that your account name has been listed and you have to enter your password to go to Flickr. Enter your password and click the “Sign In” button.

 

7. You will be redirected to the “Make a new Flickr account” page. Enter a Flickr screen name that you would like to use and click the “CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT” button.

8. After you have created your account you will see that you are directed back to Flickr and are logged in with your new screen name/account.

9. Go to the following URL: http://www.flickr.com/people/susanandallen/relationship/

10. You can mark me as Friend and or Family. This will send a request to me. Once I approve it, you will receive a notification and have access to all of the photos at http://www.flickr.com/people/susanandallen/

11. If you would like to receive notifications via e-mail when new pictures have been uploaded click on the downward facing arrow to the right of “You” at the top of the screen and select “Your Account” (or you can select the following link then skip to step 14 http://www.flickr.com/account/prefs/notifications/?from=email)

12. At Your Account page, click E-mail

13. In the Receiving activity notification emails section, click edit on the right.

14. In the section “Would you like to receive an email when your contacts upload new photos?”, select the type of updates you would like to receive and then click the SAVE CHANGES button.

You are now ready to explore our photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/susanandallen/

Photos are broken down in to Collections (located on the right side of the screen) which contain sets. For example, when 2009 is selected, this brings up several sets to view. You can click on the set to see the photos.

When you are viewing photos, navigation will be on the right side where the blue arrow is pointing in the image below.
